Before we jump into today’s topic, let me ask you, here: When was the last time you did something for the first time?

Was it a few days back, a few months, maybe or a few years?

So, diving in, today we will be talking about how trying out new things helps one stay optimistic and energetic. Moving from the predictable to the unknown means taking a chance, something most of us don’t want. This fear often blocks taking that step, but overcoming it can lead to positive outcomes. Here’s why:

When you make a habit of trying something new, now and then, it will definitely happen that you won’t succeed in everything that you would try. Then why should we even try?

We should because ‘if we try, we risk failure, but if we don’t, we ensure it’. As you contemplate trying something new, ask yourself: What’s the worst that could happen?

It is important to realize that the key lies in the process. When you indulge in something new, you broaden your horizon, you give room for experiences to enter, and the fear of failure won’t engulf you any longer.

In the process of taking up a new task, you would discover yourself, your abilities, and your interests more deeply. Moreover, it drives away the feeling of dissatisfaction as you reduce the ‘monotonicity’ in life. ‘If you’ll never try, you’ll never know’. The saddest summary of a life contains three descriptions: could have, might have, and should have.
